Sleepless in Studio City w/DrDebzz Dishing on "Freedom from Fury/An Attitude of Gratitude"

DrDebzz Opening Shpiel: Stop drinking the poison and expecting the other person to die. Instead, be grateful for your deep seated resentments, embracing them as a segue to locating the love within yourself and others. Holiday Mission Possible Should You Choose To Accept It: Turn Anger into Compassion and Forgiveness. Spend the season at war or at peace…the choice is yours!!
Science has discovered that sowing a garden of gratitude reaps stronger immune systems; reduced aches & pains; lower blood pressure; better sleep; greater levels of positive emotions, e.g. joy, pleasure, optimism, increased feelings of forgiveness, a desire to be helpful, generous, social, outgoing, and a reduced sense of loneliness & isolation.

Apropos during this time of Chanukah celebrations, I learned that the Hebrew name for God or Yehuda means “thankful.” The Talmud teaches that a person should find reasons to say 100 blessings each day.

The Modeh Ani, the traditional Jewish prayer said first thing in the morning, expresses gratitude for the very act of waking up: “I gratefully thank you God for you have restored my soul within me with compassion, abundant is your faithfulness.”

Guest Caller Laurie from California: The live in girlfriend of an ex beau sent me a nasty text telling me not to call or leave messages.  Should I tell my ex about it or should I just let both of them go?

Write in question from Carol of Albuquerque:  Why do guys talk on and on about themselves and never ask about me? I just want to find a man who listens and knows how to have a conversation with a woman, that’s not one sided.

Weekly Esteem Builders/Confidence Boosters:
I am honored and respected by all.
I am vibrantly healthy as I receive only positive energy, while protected from all negative energy.
I clearly communicate my needs and take the necessary time to discover and appreciate my true self and grow spiritually.
I attract only kind and gentle life lessons and relationships into my life.

Featured artist is Carole King singing an original tune, Christmas in the Air, cowritten by her daughter Louise Goffin and Jodi Marr, from her 2011 CD A Holiday Carole.

Sleepless in Studio City "The Best Version of Yourself" w/ Diana Krall

DrDebzz Opening Shpiel:  We have about 60-80,000 thoughts a day which we are in control of. We have a choice to "complain that rose bushes have thorns or rejoice that thorn bushes have roses.”  We also have control over our breath and can use it to discover the beauty within, thereby connecting with the oneness of all of humanity.

Many companies now use meditation as a business model to promote and facilitate employee efficiency. Additionally, there is a global movement dedicated to using meditation to access the collective consciousness and thus, causing a shift in the divisive political turmoil.

Are you still waiting to receive approval from your parents, siblings, spouse, friends, relatives, co- workers, fans, etc?  Or are you willing to take the time to focus on consciousness raising practices and connect with your highest self, i.e. the capable confident compassionate creative unconditionally loving parts, therefore, not depending on validation and acceptance from outside sources.

Have you ascertained that: past traumas & pain can be turned into power; your weaknesses may really be your assets; and "To Err is Divine?"

Guest caller Stephanie from San Diego: I’m recently divorced and met a man who’s totally enamored with me, but I’m not ready to be intimate with him. Should I let him know right away? I don’t want to give him the wrong impression.

Write in question from Gordon in Valley Village: I hate when people use their zodiac sign to justify shitty behavior, like "Sorry I can’t help it I’m a Scorpio.” I want to say back to them, “No, you’re just a bitch!"

Weekly WOW (Words of Wisdom) "What matters…Only the flicker of light in the darkness, the feeling of warmth within the cold, the knowledge of love within the void.” Joan Walsh Anglund

Esteem Builder: May the long time sun shine within you & the pure light within you guide you all the way on. Everything is in perfect order for your highest good & the good of all those you care about. All is well right here and right now & so it is.

Featured Artist: Smooth Stunning Superb Jazz Pianist & Vocalist, Diana Krall, sings “Christmas Time is Here,” written by Lee Mendelson and Vince Guaraldi, for the 1965 A Charlie Brown Christmas TV special.

Krall, known for her contralto vocals, has sold more than 6 million albums in the US and over 15 million worldwide. Billboard magazine named her the second Jazz artist of the 2000–09 decade, establishing her as one of the best-selling artists of her time.

Sleepless in Studio City "Happiness is..." feat. master pianist Bill Evans

DrDebzz Opening Shpiel: Is the elusive Happiness a Warm Gun as in the words of John Lennon or is it a Warm Puppy as in the words of Peanuts cartoonist Charles M. Schulz? Can you be happy alone or do you at least need a Wilson (as did Tom Hanks in Cast Away) or an invisible rabbit (as did Jimmy Stewart in Harvey)? What do you need to be happy? “If you gain something, it was there from the beginning. If you lose anything, it is hidden nearby.” (Ryokan poem)

Cure the Seasonal Lonelies by practicing the sixth language of love, i.e. sharing secret sensitivities and vulnerabilities. The greatest gift you can give yourself and others is playing the New Zoo Revue boardgame. Reference their smart thought provoking and profound questions as a starting point to connect with loved ones.

Guest Caller Gayle from Los Angeles: I’m obssessed with being invited to all the upcoming holiday parties and feel terrible when I’m not included. It must be something to do with low self esteem. How do you suggest I handle these awful feelings?

Write in question from Daniel in Omaha: My daughter is 13 and dresses provocatively with a ring in her nose, low cut shirts, and short skirts. I’m worried for her safety. I’ve told her my concerns but she thinks I’m old fashioned. I try to get close to her, but she shuns me and smirks whenever I say anything.

Weekly WOW’s (Words of Wisdom): The Most Effective Way to Help Others:
1) Only Offer Advice When Asked - Look for the Question Mark
2) Listen to other people’s dreams and help them in the way they wish to be helped.
3) Encourage them to find their own strength
4) Reserve Judgment AT ALL TIMES
5) Admit that you don’t know all the answers.
6) Build confidence in the other person until their own judgment becomes clear.
7) Have faith in the overall rightness of the Universe, in your purpose in this world & the next.
8) Dwell on what is right instead of what is wrong.
9) Realize the innate Divinity in each person. Respect it.
10) Never discount the other person’s good intentions.
“Great spirit, may I not render judgment upon another until I have walked for one moon in their moccasins.” - An Indian Prayer

Hear genius Bill Evans, one of the most famous and celebrated jazz pianists of the 20th century, performing “Waltz for Debby,” with masters Scott LaFaro on bass and Paul Motian on drums. “Waltz for Debby” with lyrics by Gene Lees, was first recorded on Evans's 1956 album New Jazz Conceptions (without accompaniment) and on his 1961 live album Waltz for Debby. (I always thought the lyrics were dedicated to me - haha, but it turns out they were in honor of Evans’ niece, Debby Evans.)

Words to describe the genius of Bill Evans are: exquisite, enthralling, extraordinary, mesmerizing, smart, sharp, jaw dropping, flawless. His sounds will send shivers up your spine and penetrate your heart and soul on the deepest level, leaving you entranced enlightened uplifted and transformed. Miles Davis referred to Evans as having “quiet fire,” which is beautifully put. There’s not a single jazz pianist who hasn’t been influenced by Evans. He’s considered the greatest pianist who ever lived. “He plays like an angel. This must be what it sounds like in heaven.”

Sleepless in Studio City w/ DrDebzz on "Handling Holiday Angst" feat. guitarist Paul Brown

DrDebzz Opening Shpiel:  Handling Holiday Angst: What is it about the holidays that brings up so much dread, depression, agitation, apprehension?  How do we refrain from the all consuming jitters, the overwhelming heebie jeebies? How do we let go of expectations and beliefs about what a family should look and act like?  Is it possible to escape from the pressure and franticness of doing doing doing and practice being still, even if for just five minutes out of the 1,440 minutes in a day?  What if we cherished our time alone to prepare our spirits and souls for a state of grace, to face whatever's before us? What if we were grateful for precisely who we are and exactly what we have in the present moment?

Guest Caller Elise from Beverly Hills:  I’d like to have a relationship with my older sister but she’s constantly putting me down.  I’ve tried to reach out and be the bigger person, but nothing seems to help.  I don’t know if I should try harder or just accept it won’t ever work.

Write in question from Serena in Boulder:  Is it possible for a long distance relationship to work.  My boyfriend lives far away and we see each only once a week which is plenty for me but he’s always complaining it’s not enough.

Featured artist is Jazz Guitarist, Paul Brown aka The Renaissance Man, performing ”Put It Where You Want It,” with maestros: Marco Basci, keys; Brother Paul Brown, organ; Roberto Vally, bass; Gordon Campbell, drums; Lee Thornberg and Greg Vail, horns. Paul reveals what music means to him, the secret to a long time marriage, and offers valuable advice for aspiring musicians.

Confidence Building Esteem Boosters to Facilitate Letting Go:
I let go of all expectations.  I am free to live the life I’ve dreamed.
I let go of the need to control others. I allow others to make their own way.
I let go of past relationships and clear my spirit of chains to the past to make way for new relationships to enter my life.
I let go of regrets.  I am grateful for lessons that my past missteps have taught me.
I release my chaotic monkey mind.  My mind is clear of distractions.
I let go of worry about the future.  All I have is the present, the most valuable gift in the solar system.

Sleepless in Studio City DrDebzz on "Bully Busters" feat. DOUYE'

DrDebzz Opening Shpiel: Are people born bullies? Is it nature or nurture? What's the best way to deal with a bully, i.e fight or flee? How can we cure the epidemic of bullying and heal dis-ease on the planet.

Words are the most powerful weapons in the universe. Choose to use them to build up or tear down yourself and others. Positive language and thoughts can literally alter your DNA structure.

When's the last time you bequeathed verbal accolades face to face? "Love is something if you give it away, you end up having more."

Featured artist is Jazz Vocalist Douye' singing "Round Midnight" from her impressive new recording, Daddy Said So, and accompanied by la creme de la creme of jazz musicians: John Beasley, piano; Bob Sheppard, sax; John Clayton, bass; and Roy McCurdy, drums.

Douye' shares what jazz means to her, offers advice for aspiring artists, and reveals what she thinks is the key to finding and keeping love in your life.

Guest Caller Paul from Bellevue Washington: I met a woman recently. Things have moved very quickly and I’m not sure how I feel about it.  I’m afraid if I discuss this with her, it’ll end prematurely and spoil the fun. On the other hand, I feel guilty continuing, because if it’s not right, I don’t want to lead her on.

Write in question from Lynn in Portland:  I’ve been dating a guy who always complains that he has money problems so I feel guilty when we go out and end up leaving a tip paying my share or paying the whole friggin' thing - I’m sick of it and don’t even want to see him anymore.

Esteem Building Confidence Boosters:  I am worthy and deserving of a fresh start from this moment forth.

I am worthy and deserving of success in everything I desire.

I am worthy and deserving of being treated with kindness compassion consideration forgiveness and reverence.

I am worthy and deserving of relationships where I’m admired adored and appreciated exactly as I am without judgment.

I am worthy and deserving of optimum mental emotional spiritual & physical health.

I am worthy and deserving of friendships where I can be fully seen & valued.

Sleepless in Studio City "ME TOO!" feat. Robert Davi

DrDebzz Opening Shpiel:  It’s about time the masses have woken up to smell the hummus regarding verbal emotional and physical violence. Then why aren’t the perpetrators in jail?  When did money and power become a defense to a criminal act.  It’s been going on for ions, which is why OJ got away with murder.  Well, verbal emotional and sexual abuse IS murder of the soul and when it’s continuous it’s worse than torture.  Yet the villains are still walking the streets - hey they’re even running our country!!

However, I’m an eternal hopeless romantic, hence, in the tug at your heartstrings words of Anne Frank: “In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart. I simply can’t build up my hopes on a foundation consisting of confusion, misery, and death. I see the world gradually being turned into a wilderness, I hear the ever approaching thunder, which will destroy us too, I can feel the sufferings of millions and yet, if I look up into the heavens, I think that it will all come right, that this cruelty too will end, and that peace and tranquility will return again.”
Guest Caller Paul from Bellevue Washington: I met a woman recently. Things have moved very quickly & I’m not sure how I feel about it. I’m afraid if I discuss this with her, it’ll end prematurely and spoil the fun. On the other hand, I feel guilty because if it’s not right, I don’t want to lead her on.

Write in question from Maxine in Canoga Park:  My landlord wants to stay in my apt when she’s in town and I’m afraid if I say no, she’ll raise the rent.  I don’t want her to stay with me but I feel like i have to be nice. I was going to tell her I don’t have enough room but she knows the size of my unit.  I’m dreading telling her no so I’ve been avoiding her calls.

Weekly Esteem Builders:
I have the courage to live my dreams. I am in charge.  I take my own power back.  I now live in limitless love, light, and joy. No person, place, or thing can irritate or annoy me.  I choose to be cool, calm, and confident.

Featured Artist is Accomplished Jazz Vocalist Robert Davi, an acclaimed award winning actor, writer, director, and humanitarian, who sings from and pours out his heart.  Hear an EXCLUSIVE FIRST TIME AIRING of an UNTOUCHED LIVE PERFORMANCE originally performed at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Accompanying Robert are maestros: Randy Waldman (musical director) on piano, Cooper Appelt on bass, and Dave Tull on drums. No one has ever put these two songs together - "When Your Lover Has Gone" by Einar Swan and "Don't Worry Bout Me" by Rube Bloom and Ted Koehler.
Robert shares his joy for jazz, offers valuable advice for aspiring artists and reveals what he thinks is the key to finding and keeping love.

Sleepless in Studio City "Take Off Your Mask" feat. Anna Mjoll

DrDebzz Opening Shpiel:  Halloween Time to Take Off Your Mask!  You no longer have to be the chameleon doing whatever it takes to fit in and win the approval.  Just for today, to thine own self be true, and you will attract folks who admire adore and appreciate you exactly the way you are.  In the words of Billy Joel, "Don’t go changing to try and please...You never have to work that hard."

Those who are the most insecure and secretly detest themselves (by that I mean the Weinsteins and Trumps of the world) have to bully manipulate and abuse others just so they feel up to par.  Sad but true, Ripley’s believe it or not, these predators actually loathe the ground they walk on…which explains (but doesn’t condone) their despicable behavior.

How precisely do dolphins survive in a sea of sharks? Find out ways to break the cycle and protect yourself from becoming prey to the brutes that roam the planet.  You can be free from the cruelty of savages still traversing the earth.

Caller Tom from Venice, CA:  I’d like to find love, but I’m discouraged because I’ve been stuck in old feelings for so long. I come from a sexually repressive environment and don’t want to end up a mindless robot like most couples I know.

Write in question from Susan in Thousand Oaks: I told my mom a story about a friend who won a lot of money in Las Vegas and how I was excited for her.  My mom’s reponse was ”Why are you so happy it’s not like you won?”  She also doesn’t understand why I’m not angry at my ex even though he left me for another woman, but that I’m grateful for the time we had together and how well he treated me.   Is that a generational thing?  It’s hard to imagine we came from the same gene pool!

Featured artist is the stunning smooth sexy sultry singer, Anna Mjoll, who hails from Iceland.  Anna performs the tune, “Agua de Beber” backed by the a plus maestros: Don Grusin, keys; Louis Conte, percussion; Dave Carpenter, bass; Vinnnie Colaiuta, drums; and Olafur Gaukur, guitar. Anna candidly reveals heartfelt advice on finding and keeping the love you deserve.  She admits that “For real musicians, their relationship with their music is a life long hot steamy love affair, really!”

Catch Anna Mjoll LIVE at Herb Alpert’s Vibrato on November 26th with the superb talents of Tom Ranier (also her musical director), Chuck Berghofer, Dean Parks, John Ferraro, and Jamieson Trotter.

Weekly Confidence Boosters and Esteem Builders:  It is safe to look within. I am divinely guided and protected at all times. Deep at the center of my being is an infinite well of love.
I know that old, negative patterns no longer limit me. I let them go with ease.
The more peaceful I am inside, the more peace I have to share with others.
I act as if I already have what I want—it’s an excellent way to attract happiness in my life.  Loving others is easy when I love and accept myself.

Sleepless In Studio City "Whose Life is it Anyway?" Feat. Sylvia Brooks/Christian Jacob

DrDebzz Opening Shpiel: Whose life is it anyway?  Are you living someone else’s idea of bliss? Do you go mistaking paradise for the home across the way? Do you follow the latest fad or can you march to the beat of a different drum? Do you strive to make your offspring like you, or are they free to pursue their own path, albeit divergent from yours?

How far are you willing to go to make a difference in the world?  Are you resigned to being reticent and compliant, allowing bad behavior to run rampant and destroy the planet? Will you join the troops to fight the battles at home and win the global war?

When are you going to put on your big girl/boy panties, break the silence, end the secrecy, and stop the verbal emotional and physical violence?  Now is the time. Tomorrow is too late.

Begin by teaching your sons how to treat women and your daughters how to speak up and protect themselves.  Children learn not by your words but by your actions.

Guest Caller Emma from Burbank: I’ve lost self confidence in the workplace after my latest job ended badly.  I feel like I’m not good enough and that everyone else is more qualified.  I sell myself short when it comes to pursuing opportunities for my dream position.

Featured Artist: Skilled Jazz Vocalist Sylvia Brooks and Master Pianist Christian Jacob perform their original song, “Sweet Surrender.”  Sylvia reveals how she became immersed in the world of jazz.  She relays true gems about the key to finding and keeping love and offers fruitful advice for aspiring artists.

Weekly Mirror Work:  If it’s a good day: "Thank you for doing this. How terrific! Way to go! You’re flying now!”  If it’s a bad day:  "I love you. This thing that just happened is not your fault and will pass.  I love you and that’s forever."

Weekly Esteem Builders:  I am beautiful inside and out from head to toe. I’m capable of what’s in front of me. I’m a light and everyone wants to get to know me.

Sleepless in Studio City "Terminating Ruminating" feat. Cathy Segal-Garcia/Josh Nelson

DrDebzz Opening Shpiel: Does ruminating keep you sleepless? Are you one of the multitudes hooked on sleeping pills, feeding the pocketbooks of drug companies? DrDebzz suggests tools for taming the ruminator within, e.g. focused meditation, gratitude journaling, affirmations, mirror work, rewiring your brain by turning negative thoughts into positivity.

Are you a "know it all" or are you receptive to learning? Are you willing to get back to the innocence of a newborn, trusting the universe, open to soaking up the endless knowledge awaiting your consumption?

In the words of the great T.S. Eliot: "We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”

Weekly WOW(Words of Wisdom): A Quero Apache Prayer: Looking behind I am filled with gratitude. Looking forward I am filled with vision. Looking upwards I am filled with strength. Looking within I discover peace.

Guest Caller Wendy from Woodland Hills - I’m so worried about what’s going on in our country right that it’s keeping me up every night.  I try to stay busy but at the end of the day, the fear creeps back in.  I’m also trying to help my daughter deal with the aftermath of the Las Vegas shooting since she was in the crossfire of it all.

Write in question from Walter in Atlanta:  I’m insatiable and one woman doesn’t do it for me.  Multiple lovers has been my path.  I’m still waiting for the one but maybe I should resign myself to the fact that I’m not destined for monogamy.

Confidence Boosters:  All is well in my world. Everything is working out for the highest good of myself and all those I care about. I am in the process of positive change. It is safe to look within. Deep at the center of my being is an infinite well of love.

I am loved and I am at peace. I am greeted by love wherever I go. I am at home in my body. I trust my intuition. I am willing to listen to that still small voice within.

Featured artist, jazz vocalist Cathy Segal Garcia, performs “I Love You” accompanied by master pianist, Josh Nelson. Cathy relays how jazz is under appreciated in the industry and why it's crucial to promote and support the genre. “If you closed your eyes, you might think Cathy was a highly evolved horn player.” “A model of warm, exquisitely focused jazz vocalizing…sensuous voice and cool harmonies.” “When the Sirens in the days of ancient Greece, enticed sailors with their song, at least one of them must have sounded like the clear, cool perfectly pitched Segal-Garcia voice.” Read more on the multi-talented singer, composer, producer, educator at cathysegalgarcia.com

Sleepless in Studio City "Acquiring a Flair for Fighting Fair" feat. Aquarius

DrDebzz Opening Shpiel: Acquiring a flair for fighting fair is crucial in maintaining a healthy connection. In fact, it’s vital in any relationship. Bear in mind - It’s not about winning or who’s right or wrong, but how you play the game. What’s fundamental is remaining respectful, reasonable, worthy, and admirable at all costs. Resolving conflict in a beneficial manner can only work to solidify rather than fracture any union.

Guest Caller Deb from Austin Texas: I’m recently divorced and feeling disillusioned that I won’t ever find love or be able to trust again. I’m afraid I’ll be judged as undesirable after having several failed marriages.

Write in question from Todd in Canyon Country: I'm an old fashioned guy back in the dating world after a while. the other night I took a nice woman to dinner but she refused to let me pay. when I went to kiss her good night, she turned her cheek. I was just trying to polite and proper.  What's the protocol these days?

A meditation for Building Self Esteem:
No person place or thing has any power over me unless I give it for I am the only thinker in my mind.
I have immense freedom in that I can choose what to think.
I can choose to see life in positive ways instead of complaining or being mad at myself or other people.
Complaining about what I do not have is one way to handle a situation, but it does not change anything.
When I love myself and find myself in the midst of a negative situation, I can say something such as "I am willing to release the pattern in my consciousness that contributed to this condition."
I have made negative choices in the past, but this does not mean that I am a bad person, nor am I stuck with these negative choices.
I release old judgments and love myself unconditionally.

Featured artist is Aquarius, the rock cover band, who adopted the theme song from the musical, HAIR, as its clarion call. The members personify the most iconic superstars of the Summer of Love - David Abercrombie (Country Joe); Connie Early (Janis Joplin/Grace Slick); Gerald Davis (Sly Stone/Jimi Hendrix); Ron Olsson (Bob Dylan/John Fogerty); Dennis Napolitano (hippie dude); and Brian Wood (Stoney Munchalot)

A majority of the songs from the late 60’s and early 70’s that Aquarius performs are still socially and politically relevant today with themes of peace, freedom, and equality. Their signature opening tune is “Get Together” by the Youngbloods, reminding us how history repeats itself and that we all need to take an active role in affecting positive change.

Sleepless in Studio City: "Toxic Shame" feat. Stephan Oberhoff

DrDebzz Opening Shpiel: Shame thrives in secrecy. By uncovering it and getting out from under its spell, you no longer have to be bleeding internally. Sharing shameful thoughts, feelings, and experiences diminishes the deadly toxins that cause inflammation in your body. You can prevent and/or heal many dis-eases, including all stress related and auto-immune deficiency disorders.

Use the 6th language of love to reveal your innermost shame and return it from whence it came (usually from your childhood).  You can emerge from isolation and be free from the imprisonment toxic shame creates.

Anyone with a microphone in front of them, i.e. celebrities, artists, politicians, sports figures, has a duty to be open, candid, and come clean about shame based secrets in hopes of helping others.

Multi-Instrumentalist, Award-Winning Composer, Vocalist and Producer, Stephan Oberhoff performs “O Pantanal,” with it’s stunningly flowing floating uplifting quality.  Stephan offers advice for aspiring artists by quoting an illuminating conversation between Agnes De Mille and Martha Graham, excerpted here:

“...There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique.

And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost.  The world will not have it.

It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with others.  It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, to keep the channel open…"

Guest Caller Mark from Panorama City: I’m trying to find a lady but I don’t trust the chemistry factor. Even though I’ve never been married, I still believe in attracting the love of my life.  Any advice?

Sleepless in Studio City: The 2 Magic Words are "I'm Sorry" feat. Kathy Kosins "Uncovered Soul"

DrDebzz** Opening Shpiel: The Two Magic Words: "I'm Sorry." Even if you're only 1% wrong and the other person is 99%, you can win much more than a million bucks by apologizing for your part.  You'll gain humility & esteem & give your partner the gifts of respect & honor.
There’s no need to forgive others if you love them just they way they are without any expectations. There’s no need to ask for forgiveness if you treat everyone BETTER than you want to be treated.  Do all the good you can by all the means you can in all the ways you can in all the places you can.

DrDebzz Closing Shpiel:  Forgive Yourself First! Give yourself the greatest gift of all - LOVE LOVE LOVE on yourself! Be your own cheerleader, join your own team, and be your own best friend!

Fall is the season to plant positivity seeds by brushing up on your affirmations. It’s important to speak in the present when affirming what or who you want to attract, such as “Thank you for bringing me the best partner for my growth.”

As the great Muhammad Ali expressed, “It’s the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief, once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things being to happen.”

Florence Scovel Sinn (1920’s) said, “We can’t always control our thoughts but we can control our words. Through repetition we impress the subconscious mind and then become masters of any situation.”

Guest Caller Dave from Playa Del Rey:  I'm trying to find a balance in my life through staying in shape, dream journaling, working, taking care of my mom. I’m still looking for romance and would like to be more involved in world affairs.

Write in question from Thomas of Jacksonville:  Is it cheating on your wife if you go to a prostitute?  Is watching porn cheating?

Confidence Boosters for the Week: Say as often as possible in front of the mirror with a big beaming smile from head to toe:

"I attract only healthy relationships and I am always treated well. I spend time with enthusiastic energetic supportive people. I forgive everyone in my past for all perceived wrongs and I release them with love. I face all challenges with ease poise grace and confidence. I have the courage to live my dreams. I am filled to the brim my cup runneth over with limitless love, light, and joy."

Kathy Kosins, the sultry stunning superb, elegant alluring captivating jazz singer, performs “Uncovered Soul” the title track from her soon to be released CD. Accompanying Kathy are master musicians all at the top of their game: the genius Mitch Forman on piano, Rhodes, and synths; the remarkable Eric Harland on drums; and the brilliant Kevin Axt on bass. It doesn’t get much better than that!!!

"Kosins' voice is rich, filled with that rare combination of range and resonance.”
“…a sound that melts you. She is simply wonderful to listen to."
"Kosins is a delightful surprise... reminiscent of Peggy Lee...worthy of Dinah Washington.”
“Kathy’s singing is technically flawless yet filled with a warmth and appeal that only the greatest singers achieve.”
"Kosins possesses a voice that communicates intimacy and focus.”

Sleepless in Studio City "Smiling is Contagious/Sensitivity is Sexy" w/Deb Bowman & Ted Howe

DrDebzz** Opening Shpiel: Everyone smiles in the same language. Smiling is contagious. Start a smile epidemic by smiling at everyone you encounter. Give yourself the biggest smile of all as you look deep into your eyes in front of the mirror and say “Hello Gorgeous! Hello Handsome!” Disconnect from your cell phone and the internet for 24 hrs. and connect to others by communicating face to face. Consider this concept: Sensitivity is Sexy and Vulnerability takes Courage! Remember to T.H.I.N.K before you speak. Consider: Is what I’m about to say T-houghtful, H-elpful, I-ntelligent, N-ecessary, K-ind?

Caller Rebecca from North Hollywood: I’ve been playing by the rules, being the “good girl” in dating, but that hasn’t been working. I keep attracting unavailable men! Eventhough I love, value, and cherish myself, I’m still super critical and a perfectionist.

Write in question from Stan in Oceanside:  How do you know who to trust?

Positive Affirmations: It is safe for me to speak up for myself.  My healing is already in process. There is always more to learn. I become more loveable each moment. It is now safe for me to release all of my childhood traumas and move into love.  I trust the Universe to help me see the good in everything & everyone. My life gets more fabulous every day.
